Life Time – Everything for the Members

Life Time does everything for the member

Life Time has one simple guiding principle. “Everything we do at Life Time is for the members,” says Tammi Printup, Senior Engineering Manager, Life Time Technology.

Just because the principle is simple doesn’t mean it’s easy to execute. Life Time is the third place in their members’ lives. It offers a variety of fitness clubs and activities, but that’s just the beginning. From nutrition to co-working facilities to kids’ programming to just a place to relax and connect with family and community, it offers the healthy way of life their members desire. That wide and unique range of offerings also requires a unique and powerful software platform. They’ve found that with Exerp.

Streamlining Growth

“When we first started with Exerp through our Gaps analysis, we had a great team come in and work with all of our different divisions at Life Time,” says Printup. Gaining efficiency and delivering a great brand experience is a continued goal for Life Time. That can be difficult as the business grows and scales. Variations and one-off systems typically creep into the mix.

“We had multiple systems and multiple processes being supported,” says David Duffee, Senior Director, Life Time Technology. “Exerp allowed us to unify all of those processes and systems into one space, really giving our members what they’re looking for in their healthy living journey.”

That is critical as Life Time continues an enviable growth trajectory. According to Athletech News, they opened four new centers in the second quarter of 2025, with plans to open 10 new centers by year end. If they meet those expectations, they’ll have a total of 194 locations. In any given week they might have 27,000 group studio classes for their 388,000 members. It’s a big moving and growing organization.

Building Momentum

“Exerp has been a great partner every step of the way in this journey in terms of ‘how do we scale quickly to meet more demand?’” says Matt Heinrichs, Senior Vice President, Life Time Technology. “How do we change services to match these new offerings and meet us where we’re at?”

“We didn’t embark on this alone,” adds Duffee. “We specifically went and asked Exerp for guidance and shared our plans just to make sure that we were all going in the same direction. We’ve really kind of grown into more of a partnership.”
